Submarine Officer: My First Career
This course relates the personal experience of the instructor during his service in the US Navy as an officer aboard nuclear submarines. The first session will describe operations aboard a ballistic missile submarine. The second session will describe how modern submarines dive, change depth, and surface. The third session will describe nuclear propulsion, emergency escape, and how attack submarines employ their sensors and weapons. The final session of the course describes typical Cold War operations, including surfacing through the Arctic ice, and attacking land targets with cruise missiles. Class Size: Max. 95

BIO NOTE: Alan served in the U S Navy from the mid 1970’s through the mid 1990’s, qualified in nuclear submarines with assignments at sea and on shore staff.
