Battle of Gettysburg: Turning Point of the American Civil War?
This pivotal, three day, 1863 battle in southern Pennsylvania will be presented delineating its origin, execution and significance. Key personalities and interesting, relevant events of the conflict will be discussed. Course participants will learn about numerous, non-martial components of the battle, military tactics and significant battle developments, outcomes, and consequences. The battle and historic borough of Gettysburg stand tall in American Civil War lore. This course will suggest reasons why it generates such interest. Class Size: Max. 95

BIO NOTE: Ernest is a retired elementary school teacher who has had a life-long interest in the American Civil War. He has read extensively on the subject and has visited numerous related sites. He has had numerous interesting experiences related to Civil War study and events and has become friends with several pre-eminent Civil War historians and authors.
